Professor Srivastava holds the position of a professor emeritus in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Victoria in Canada. He joined the faculty there in 1969 as an associate professor and then as a professor. Professor Srivastava has held numerous visiting positions including those at West Virginia University in the USA (1967-1969), University Laval in Canada (1975), and the University of Glasgow in the UK (1975-1976), and, indeed, also at many other universities and research institutes in different parts of the world.

At present he is working as a Professor in Industrial Engineering Department at King Saud University, KSA. He has more than 26 years of experience from industry, Research and Teaching and worked as a Associate Professor of Manufacturing Engineering and Management at Government University in Malaysia. He was a Keynote Speaker for 52 International and National Conference and Chair & Co-Chair for 12 International Conferences held in Asia and a Member of Advisory and Technical Committee for more than 77 International Conferences across the world. He is a Member, Editorial Board/ Reviewer for more than 14 international journals and evaluated 23 Doctoral theses in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials, Industrial Engineering and Management. He has successfully completed 5 research projects at the international level. He has to his credit 4 books published by reputed publishers and authored more than 71 Research Papers in Peer-Reviewed, Indexed Journals and Conference Proceedings.
